Payroll changes from April 2014

From 6th April 2014 there are two significant changes that will affect employers.

HMRC have announced that businesses will benefit by up to £2,000 per annum, with the introduction of the new Employment Allowance.

This means that the first £2000 of Employers NI contributions will no longer be paid.

However, alongside this piece of welcome news, HMRC have also announced that the Statutory Sick Pay refunds for small employers are to be abolished.

So from 6th April , SSP reclamations , that varied with the level of an employer’s monthly NIC, will end.
